Husband, dad papa and friend,Charlie will be missed so much. His health had been a constant worry to
us all and we cant imagine how much pain he had been suffering.Dad suffered from heart problems for
many years and learnt last year that he was dying from heart failure.
The week after he died we received news that he had also been diagnosed with cancer. The news has
left us all shocked.
Even still his passing came as a great shock to us all.We cant believe we will no longer hear his
voice , for he was taken at 59 yrs old.He wasnt afraid of dying and his faith and humour helped him
a great deal.
He passed away whilst on a fishing trip , doing what he loved most.We thank god that he is no longer
in pain but we are dealing with our own pain of loosing him.
Eternal rest give to him, O Lord. And may perpetual light shine on him. May he rest in peace.Amen
Loving husband and best friend to Agnes.
A much loved father and friend to Caroline, Catherine and Suzanne.
Charles has six grandchildren who he loved and cherished dearly. He was extremely proud of all of
them and would have done anything for any of them. Family was always his first love, but as his
grandchildren Shaun, Liam, Fern, Jamie, Mark and Michael were always kept close to his heart.
Charles was also a much loved son, brother and uncle.
On the 15th Aug 2008 just short of a month before his own death Charles brother John Wilson Ferns
died. As his next of kin Charles organised his funeral with great dignity. We found out later that
when he was organising his brothers funeral he picked all his own arrangements. The sign we think of
a man with great peace, humanity but most of all with great faith and trust in God.
Goodnight Charlie xxxxxx

Life Lessons
You may have thought I didn't see,
Or that I hadn't heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me,
But I got every word.
Perhaps you thought I missed it all,
And that we'd grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything,
It's written on my heart.
Without you, Dad, I wouldn't be
The woman I am today;
You built a strong foundation
No one can take away.
I've grown up with your values,
And I'm very glad I did;
So here's to you, dear father,
From your forever grateful kid.
dad
THANK YOU
Thank you for the moments; Thank you for the years
Thanks for always cushioning my worries and my fears
Thank you for the inspiration; Thank you for the hope
Thank you for making it so effortless to cope
Thank you for the conversations; Thank you for the love
And for taking me to special places I've been dreaming of
Thank you for supporting love, whether near of far
Thank you just for being the dad that you are
My heart is just rejoicing, it's jumping up and down
It's dancing in the meadows and it's spinning all around
My heart is doing somersaults, and flip-flops in the air
It's doing rolling cartwheels and jumping jacks with flair
My heart is doing little swirling spirals in the breeze
It's fluttering and twirling and it's tumbling with ease
My heart is doing wheelies, it's relishing in fun
So grateful is my little heart for all that you have done
love you dad

if only we could hear your voice one more time, no words can express how much we loved you, at least now you are not in pain, that means so much to us all. Watch over and protect us.
Love you papa,
Fern and Jamie (grandchildren)
Dad
It still seems so unreal that I cant phone you or come down the road and visit. We could always depend on you, I still believe we can. Look after us all dad, my prayers are with you every minute of every day. Extra prayers for our mum tomorrow as she will find if there is any damage to her heart.
Every time I hear a Stones song it brings a smile to my face, hope its you dad!
Love you, we all do more than I think you realised.
Someone told me yesterday that the pain we are feeling shows the level of love we had for you. We were only giving back the love you gave to us.
Hugs and kisses

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real.
But only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Charlie(husband ,dad, papa and friend) thank you for being a part of our lives whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with god.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed
two sets of footprints in the sand,
one belonging to him and the other to god.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the
very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This bothered him and he questioned god about it.
"God, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life there is
only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most
you would leave me."
God replied "My precious, precious child,
I love you and would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffereing,
when you see only one set of footprints in the sand,
it was then that I carried you."

God Bless Charles x
I just read your tribute to Charles, what a wonderful man. He sounds just like my husband Terry who passed from cancer in Jan this year. Terry also loved his fishing, and was a great practical joker. Having gone through the pain myself of watching a loved one pass from cancer is absolutely heartbreaking. God Bless you Angel Charles. My sincere condolences to all the family.
